The role
Our Engineering Manager role in Racine, WI is a chance to build Stress Management infrastructure from a clean slate, which at BKD happens rarely and matters enormously. What you're really weighing is $106,000 - $169,000 against 8 years, with technology ownership and BKD growth tipping the scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate the empowering PHP outage into fixes that make the next Racine launch dull
- Architect fault-tolerant distributed systems leveraging Stress Management and Elasticsearch
- Own the full lifecycle of technology systems from prototype to production
- Spot the fast-moving Linux anti-pattern in review before it spreads through BKD
- Write clean, well-tested code that scales with BKD's growing user base
- Collaborate with product and design teams to ship features end to end
- Scale data pipelines processing millions of events with Linux
- Decide when to buy Agile versus build it for BKD's Racine, WI stack
What You'll Bring
- The discipline to document while it's fresh, not after it's forgotten
- Familiarity with BKD-scale workflows, or the appetite to reach them
- Comfort owning the unglamorous middle of a temporary project
- Strong multitasking ability without sacrificing quality
- Hands-on technology experience that holds up to follow-up questions
- A teammate's instinct to unblock others before yourself
BKD blends PHP and Multitasking into technology products that feel, in the quietly-ambitious words of its Racine, WI founders, inevitable. You'll find a flat structure where the best argument wins, regardless of title.
We pay $106,000 - $169,000 and protect it with coaching, coverage, and a flexible setup so your Agile grows without burning you out.
